New Jennings continuo organ for Windsor Castle is now complete

We reported recently on a new continuo organ for St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, being built by Jennings Organs and Harpsichords of Dorset.

The excellent news from Robin Jennings is that the three-stop instrument is now complete. He writes: 'It’s been a real challenge to get it finished in the heat that the south of England has been enduring for weeks now.

'A huge thank you to Laurent Robert for the fabulous carving of the Garter and to Terry and Chris and all at Shires Organ Pipes Ltd for the usual superb metal pipes.'

The pipes in question are the 8ft Principal front made with 80 per cent tin. It is a great pleasure to work with organ builders like Robin who take pride and extraordinary care in their craft.
